Orphanage
Anbu Ullangal has forty three orphan children at present. Many children were taken as orphans, some from their birth and few at later stages. These children are brought up with utmost care, love and affection. These children are sent to schools and given good education. Some are sent to polytechnic institutions after their 10th std; some to colleges after their 12th std. The local philanthropists help to educate the children.
Apart from these activities public functions are conducted here during Christmas and New Year and also during national festivals. Sometimes the home gets surplus items such as dress materials, books, note books etc from the public which are distributed to the poor children of our village. Thus we maintain good relationship with the public.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
- To admit more orphans in the orphanage.
- To provide the basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and medical care.
- To provide better facilities to the present inmates and the new comers
- To provide emotional support when the orphans need it.
- To uplift them socially and economically through education and training programs.
- To provide them with whatever facilities they need
PROPOSED ACTIVITIES
- To show love and affection to the inmates.
- To give counseling to build their self confidence.
- To give them recreational facilities.
- To give them skilled training in various areas according to their ability.
- To give medical and health care facilities to enable them to have a healthy living.
- To give them good education and make them better citizens.
Old age Home
Old age Home is another activity of our trust. At present we have thirty old people in our trust. Most of them were deserted by their families. Some don’t have anyone to look after them. Among the thirty inmates, twenty are above seventy five years of age while others are above sixty five years of age. All their needs are met by us right from their entrance till death. For all these needs we collect money from local philanthropists.
Extension Programme
- To build a spacious old age home for the old people alone.
- To give them necessary medical, recreational and residential facilities.
- To give them emotional support when they need it.
Care for the physically and mentally challenged people
Taking care of physically and mentally challenged is yet another activity of our trust. Normally these types of people are deserted by their families and relatives. These people are usually thrown out of the society. They are normally considered a nuisance to the society and are looked down as unwanted elements of the society. We take care of such people.
Extension Programme
- To provide a conducive environment to the mentally and physically challenged people.
- To give them good medical care and psychological treatment.
- To carry out rehabilitations activities for them.
- To give them emotional support whenever they need it.
